Today, I’m introducing a must-have software for bloggers who use AI content, outsource their content, or simply publish any content.
Unless you’re a confident, consistently excellent writer, you should consider adding this tool to your arsenal.
What does it do?
Originality.ai analyses your material and scores it from 0 to 100.
A higher scores implies AI-generated content.
The program is billed as an AI detector, but it’s currently in beta.
So, the software isn’t 100% accurate yet.
It sometimes gave non-AI stuff a high AI score and vice-versa.
And I found several ways to lower score by simply giving AI better instructions.

Limitations or potential drawbacks of the software
I’m not sure how to update, rewrite, or edit articles in a way that will result in higher originality rankings.
If you use a program like SurferSEO and follow the recommendations it gives you, your scores will improve.
Originality.ai does not provide any advice or recommendations.
We are on our own to figure things out.
This is really something that appeals to me since everyone of us has to discover our own unique voices and ways of producing high-quality material.
This ensures that the material seen on the internet will not be uniform.
In any case, let’s wait and see what develops.
Important: There are a plethora of considerations that go into search engine optimization.
If I were to say that high original scores automatically result in good search rankings, it would be both foolish and irresponsible of me.
That is not what I am recommending at all.
I am making the suggestion that there seems to be a minimum threshold for the percentage of unique material across all of my stuff that performs the best.
Which indicates that I should not post any material until it has a score of 70/80 percent or better.
That will increase its chances of ranking, but it is not a guarantee.
What Percentage of AI Content Is Acceptable?
This was a question I had.
I’m sure many users wondered the same.
I mean, if a scan tells me a piece of content is70% original and 30% AI, is this ok?
Or should we shoot for 80% original as some people suggest.
Well, I asked the owner and this was his reply:

But as of now, there is no clear answer.
Does it make mistakes?
Yes, is the short answer.
But it does do a pretty good job overall.
But I wanted to see how I could improve scores when AI was deemed to be high.
So what I did was use AI in a different way to see if I could get around the numbers.
And, it was not that hard.
The two main prompts I used where to copy and paste a piece of content with a low originality score into openai.
Then simply ask for it to be rewritten:
- In the active voice (not passive)
- In shorter punchy sentences
A second way around was to use Quillbot Premium.
But use the shorten function.
That kind of forces shorter sentences as well and makes it more natural sounding, cutting out the fluff that AI can provide.
Now, this is not to say that the content is automatically better quality, but in most cases, it now passed the tests.
So, clearly this software is very useful, but not perfect.
Yet!
What’s the cost of Originality.ai?
It’s just $.01 per 100 words.
You only pay for what you use.
I love this kind of pricing model and I am happy they chose that.
For example, a 1,000 word article would cost you $.10.
In my opinion, that’s a small price to pay if Originality.ai helps you maintain good quality control for your blog.
Will AI content get penalized?
Google has come out a while back and said so.
But will it really?
My answer to this is yes and no.
I honestly feel we will see the most obvious cases get penalized first.
By that, content that has been spun using cheap or poor quality spinners.
Stuff that clearly makes no sense, or is factually incorrect.

- Fact check
- Do a grammar check
- Run a plagiarism check
Some Final Points
Overall, originality.ai is a great tool that will only improve.
I aim to examine whether high originality scores and site traffic are correlated.
If so, that would be a major breakthrough.
There will always be exceptions of course and no tool is perfect.
That said though, if you own a blog or specialized site, check it out.
