And as great as things like Adobe Acrobat and other PDF editors are, they are not easy for beginners.
It used to mean you needed some proficiency with PDF editors.
But with the Canva’s new free pdf editor, this is now super simple.
How to edit a pdf for free

Things to Note:
- PDFs up to 15 pages can be imported.
- Any text and images are broken up for editing purposes.
- But if the PDF is a scan, it can only be processed as a flat image. Neither text nor design elements can be broken up for editing.
- This can all be done with the free plan 🙂
How do you Upload a PDF to Canva?
One way to upload your PDFs is by dragging and dropping them onto the homepage.
Another option would be clicking “Create a design” on top of the page, then selecting imported files from there.

As you saw, Canva makes editing PDFs very easy.
You can add text, images, change colours and all that.
In fact, the whole pdf editing process is easy.
As soon as you are happy, you simply download your edited pdf
Once out of BETA, there could even be more functionality.
Here are a few points in case you run into any issues:
Why does the imported text/font look different?
You won’t always find an exact match when converting from one font to another.
Sometimes matching fonts is a difficult process since there are so many different ones available, but Canva does its best and try to identify the original text’s font during the conversion!
Why can’t I edit the colors of an image in the imported design
Depending on the original type of image used to create a PDF, there’s a chance for success when editing colors.
If it was created from vector graphics, then Canva will have an easier time breaking down and allowing users with color edition capabilities.
However, if its flat images are in question instead, this is not something that can be achieved through Canva.
This is because they lack the ability to edit them correctly due to their inability as such.
Summary
Canva makes it stupidly simple now to edit your PDFs and there is no need to download anything.
